There have been comments recently, saying that we haven’t posted things for a while… so this is the post that will end the silence.
Both Jen and I are still in Durban. She’s leaving on an early flight tomorrow morning, and heading back to Joburg. I’m still here in Durbz until the 14th of Jan. It’s been really chilled out and relaxing. Not having much to do during the days here, and also Durbans (usually) fantastic weather means long days at the pool or beach. I took Jen down to Bay of Plenty beach a week or two ago, and we spent the morning frollicking in the waves and relaxing on the sand. A couple days later we spent a long afternoon next to the pool which resulted in Jen’s back getting quite burnt, and subsequent peeling. I think it’s the first time shes peeled in like … yonks.
“Yonks” is a great word.
News on the travel preparations, is that I’ve now got my backpack all sorted. Same one as Jen’s, but in a black colour, rather than blue. Managed to get it on sale after new years, for R150 cheaper than it was before xmas (in Durban) and R300 cheaper than it was before xmas (in Joburg). We will be pursuing this atrocity when Jen gets back to Joburg. We suspect that Sandton Cape Union Mart is up to no good.
My Dell notebook is also in the process of being purchased. Found out 2 days ago that you can’t use non-UK issued credit cards to purchase notebooks off of the Dell website, so we’ve had to start thinking of alternate ways of getting it. It takes over a week to deliver, so I want to have it paid for and delivered before we get to London. It’s becoming more difficult than I thought it would be. Luckily we have two official plans of action regarding this. The first, is to beg Jen’s cousin, Neil, over in London, to purchase it and then pay him back in pounds… the second is to get hold of a cousin of a cousin, and organise them to purchase it here with their UK credit card, then give them hard currency in exchange. It’s a toughie. Furthermore, the special on the notebook at the moment entitles me to a free upgrade to a 120Gb hard drive, which is only valid until tomorrow (10th January). So, if you know someone, or you yourself have a UK issued credit card and are willing to spend 600 pounds on it, and then be reimbursed instantly, then just let me know and we’ll make a deal of some sort
Neil, you’re a legend, whether you can help us out with the notebook or not.
Will be sorting out all of my forex in the next day or two… will most probably be using a Rennies Cash Passport to do it. They’re pretty rad… check them out if you needing to take money with you overseas anytime soon.
Finley is also k-rad. He’s doing all sorts of new things these days… like gurgling… and laughing. Check out Darb’s Flickr account for all the recent pics.

Kyle bug, you are so super organised, you astound me! Wow. Oh and I have a new toy, which, regardless of the fact that it is Windows (ke ke ke) based, is bound to make you jealous…I had to wrestle it out of the hands of one Mr Pretorious last night afetr he helped set it up. it’s the iMate K-Jam and it’s superrrr koooll..!
Comment by hotpinkflush January 10, 2007 @ 9:49 amThanks man
I try my best!
Rad phone, though it does suck wrt to the Microsoft OS. The most k-rad phone at the moment, is Apple’s new iPhone. It’s a 3-in-1. Though it’s Apple, so that makes it crap. Apple is the crust. Rights violators, and all round bad guys.
Comment by Kyle January 10, 2007 @ 12:05 pmI agree Apple is crust, in my language that makes the Pants, and since they are super-pants that makes them Crocthless Pants! Whicih makes them Chaps!
So, given the chocie (not really given the choice, but hypothetically) between iPhone and Windows iMate, i picked the lesser of two evils…at least I am somwhow channeling the smallest of funds back into Africa through the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation…or something…
Comment by hotpinkflush January 11, 2007 @ 10:04 amAah, Flush, I knew you had best interests at heart. The Gates Foundation is most definitely pretty hectic though… The way I always like to describe the differences between Bill and Steve Jobs, is as follows:
Bill Gates knows he’s evil, doesn’t pretend to be anything but it (You can tell this by the newest Microsoft release, Vista [ although he is now not the head of MS anyways, and started a wicked foundation ] ).
Steve Jobs is way more evil, but pretends to be the opposite. A friendly, fun-loving software kinda-guy, when in fact he is the antichrist, pigfucker, and popstar.
Comment by Kyle January 11, 2007 @ 10:13 amPS. You STILL haven’t uploaded an avatar for your account. You can’t shout at Jenbug and I for not posting, when you haven’t even uploaded a frakking avatar. Sies! Ke-Ke-Ke.
Comment by Kyle January 11, 2007 @ 10:14 amOk, here’s the story on my damn avatar…I have two (yes, not one, but TWO) designers working on it AS WE SPEAK! whichever gets me my Avatar and Biillboard pic fastest, wins a choc from me… however, since they are both unrealiable and have both had a month to get to it…I don’t hold out hope.
I am a design freak, so you can’t expect me to upload any old thing now can you?
Comment by hotpinkflush January 12, 2007 @ 10:30 amAnd if I try photoshop it, it won’t come out the way it looks in my head…then where will I be…
huh…designers…and other “creative” types…ke ke ke
