The rand/pound has gone up like 50c in the last 2 weeks. It’s not fair. It’s ghei.
Basically, it means that I’ve lost another 50 odd pounds to The Man, which makes me bleak. Starting to worry about the chances of running out of cash whilst over there. At the moment though, Jen’s looking good with regard to monies… She’ll have to support the two of us for our unemployed days 
The notebook worked out! Neil was a real champion, and paid for the notebook out of HIS OWN WALLET! Can you believe it!? The dude hasn’t even met me, and he’s willing to part with 615 hard earned Great British Pounds, based on his cousins good judgement. You saved me, Neil… You’re a rockstar. So it’s been paid for and is now on it’s way… Takes 10 days to deliver apparently, but I’ve been reading some horror stories of it taking longer from the Dell UK site. I’ll be bleak if it’s not there waiting for me when I arrive… I am also going to be documenting the installation of Ubuntu over the old-new Windows installation that will come preinstalled on the notebook, for reimbursement reasons. It’s pretty much the same make and model of the one that they guy who managed to get his pounds back on for his useless MS OS, was. I think that sentence makes sense.
Hooray for Dell notebooks! Hooray for 8 days until we leave! Boo for crappy exchange rates.
